This week’s parkday was at the Beach! We connected, played, dug holes, hiked, built castles and imagined! The Beach isn’t just a place to play in the surf. With Thursday’s twisting, changing weather, the beach was a place to explore and bond on many levels. The kids came up with such original adventures (see videos). With two of the youngest esteemed to the role of King and Queen, the others mentally muscled out the hierarchy dynamics for the remaining members of the group. We parents not only got a chance to update each other on our lives; discuss philosophical outlooks on topics like adoption, political pendulum swings, int’l travel with children and more; but also consciously witness our children testing out negotiating skills with words, minds, hands and other body parts. It takes so much energy to be on the vigilant watch always ready to intervene, but consciously allowing our children to take over the reigns to resolve and reinvent conflicts amongst themselves. Bravo Parents!
